Watford Deep Clean and Rubbish Clearance: Before and After
This North Watford property needed far more than a routine clean. Food waste had built up across the kitchen, rubbish covered the living room floor and every room needed stripping back before it could be cleaned properly. Here is how our team brought it back to a fresh, liveable home in a single day, room by room, with the before and after photos taken on the job.

Every job like this starts the same way: clear first, clean second. You cannot deep clean a worktop that is buried under packaging, so our team worked through each room removing rubbish, then went back over every surface, fitting and floor. Click any photo below to open it full size.
01Kitchen
The kitchen was the hardest-hit room in the property. The sink was full of food waste and standing grime, takeaway containers and packaging covered the worktops, and one corner beside the units had turned into a heap of food packets, cans and bottles. The microwave was caked inside and the worktops were sticky with crumbs and spills.
What we did in the kitchen
- Cleared and bagged all food waste, packaging and rubbish
- Scrubbed and degreased the stainless steel sink and drainer
- Deep cleaned the worktops and tiled splashbacks
- Cleaned the microwave inside and out
- Wiped down cupboard doors, handles and kickboards
- Wiped the fridge, washing machine and small appliances
- Swept and mopped the floor, edges and corners included
- Left the room clear, dry and ready to use
The finished kitchen speaks for itself: a shining sink, clean worktops and a floor you can actually see. It went from the room you would avoid to one that is ready for cooking again.
02Bathroom
In the bathroom, cans and rubbish had collected around the basin, and the sanitaryware and floor needed a thorough hygiene clean rather than a quick wipe. This is the room where we slow down, because hidden grime around taps, toilet bases and bath edges is what leaves a bathroom smelling stale.
What we did in the bathroom
- Removed all rubbish from the room
- Hand cleaned and disinfected the basin, pedestal and taps
- Cleaned and disinfected the toilet inside and out
- Scrubbed the bath, including the grab handles
- Wiped down wall tiles and splashbacks
- Cleaned skirting and mopped the floor
03Living room
The living room floor had disappeared under newspapers, packaging, clothes and bags, piled deepest in the corners and around the coffee table. Before any cleaning could happen, everything had to be sorted and bagged by hand.
What we did in the living room
- Sorted and bagged the rubbish covering the floor
- Cleared the furniture and table surfaces
- Vacuumed the full carpet, edges included
- Wiped furniture, skirting and windowsills
With the room cleared, the space opened right up. The light from the window now falls on a clean carpet, and the table, chairs and TV are ready to use again.
04Bedroom
The bedroom floor was strewn with debris and litter. On jobs like this our team works in full protective suits, masks and gloves, which keeps everyone safe and means we can tackle a room properly rather than skirting around the worst of it.
What we did in the bedroom
- Cleared and bagged all debris from the floor
- Vacuumed the carpet thoroughly
- Wiped down the wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside unit
- Cleaned doors, handles and skirting
05Hallway
The hallway is the first thing anyone sees, and here it was covered in papers, bottles and litter. Once it was cleared, the carpet was vacuumed and the doors and frames wiped down, so the property now makes a clean first impression from the front door.
06Packs of rubbish cleared
By the end of the job, the rubbish from every room had been sorted into heavy-duty sacks and stacked in one place. There are more than a dozen full bags in this one photo alone. Bagging everything on site keeps the property clean while we work, and once the rooms were done our team took the lot away, so the property was left completely clear by the end of the day.
